L. Warren Clayton, III

Associate

      Warren is an associate with The Carpenter Law Firm, P.C.  He was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in chemistry from Clemson University in 2000.  While at Clemson, Warren was inducted into the Golden Key and Phi Kappa Phi Honors Societies, graduated with general honors from Clemson’s Calhoun Honors College, and was an officer in the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.  Warren received his juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2004, where he was an associate articles editor for the South Carolina Law Review.

      Prior to attending law school, Warren gained valuable construction experience working as a field foreman for his family’s commercial construction company, Clayton Construction Company, Inc.  After being admitted to practice law in South Carolina in 2004, Warren put this experience to use when he took a position with a respected Greenville law firm practicing primarily in the areas of business and construction law.  Warren joined The Carpenter Law Firm, P.C. in October of 2007.  His practice primarily focuses on business and construction law, including construction litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, claims resolution and avoidance, construction defects, construction-related debt collections, coverage issues, mechanic’s liens and bond claims.

      Warren is an Eagle Scout and avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hunting and fishing, and can often be found spending his free time farming and managing for wildlife at his family’s farm in Greenwood, South Carolina.  Warren and his wife Susan reside in Greenville, South Carolina.
